Requirements: The start-up visa can be issued when the following requirements are met:


(i) Company legal activities related to the introduction of new technologies or other innovations of economic and social interests for Lithuania;


(ii) Foreigners are the company's shareholders to be established in Lithuania, have qualifications, financing and business plans, and their inpidences are needed for the activities of this company.


All the requirements mentioned above are approved by the public company "Versli Lietuva" in an official letter, which is one of the required documents when applying for a trp.


Please note that there are no requirements on the capital invested in the company or employees for the start-up visa.


Local work: no need.


Validity period: 1 year. Permissions can be extended twice. After that, individuals must apply for temporary residence permits on other legal basis - as shareholders and CEOs (explained below).


2. Shareholders and CEO 'trp

The temporary residence permit issued for shareholders and CEOs is a 2-in-1 permit (work and residence).


Requirements: TRP can be issued when the following requirements are met:


(i) Requirements for the Company:


- Company equity capital is not less than EUR 28,000;


- Activities carried out at least 6 months according to business plans in Lithuania;


- Full-time employees (Lithuanian citizens, other EU / EEA member citizens or third national citizens who live permanently in Lithuania), who are together are calculated with at least 2 gross salary monthly average of the Lithuanian economy (current EUR 2 693, 4 gross).


(ii) requirements for foreigners:


- is a shareholder and has invested at least EUR 14,000 into the stock capital of the Lithuanian company; and


- Is the CEO of the company or shareholder holding at least 1/3 of the nominal value of the basic capital.


Local work: needed for the CEO.


Validity period: 2 years. TRP can be issued for 3 years, if the company employs 5 full-time employees and funds invested from the number of shareholders amounted to at least EUR 260,000.


3. Intra-Corporate Transfer Permit (ICT)

ICT residence permit is a 2-in-1 permit (work and residence) for the third national country employed by non-EU entities (home companies) transferred in the same group of companies to work while in Lithuania.


Requirements: ICT permits can be issued when the following requirements are met:


(i) Employees must be posted / secured to the host entity in Lithuania as manager (head of the entire company or a departmental / structural unit) or a

specialist;


(ii) Employees must have the qualifications and experiences needed by the host company;


(iii) Employees (managers and specialists) should be employed by the company for at least 6 months;


(iv) There are no explicit salary amounts determined by the Law and the main rules are "employee salaries may not be lower than the salary paid for the population of Lithuania / EU who do the same job for the same employer".


Local work: no need.


Validity Period: The maximum duration of the assignment in Lithuania must not exceed 3 years. After a period of 3 years, employees are needed to apply for other types of trp or to leave Lithuania for a minimum of 3 months. Thus, there must be a break at least 3 months before the new ICT permit application for the same employee can be submitted.
